Control Task Edit​

The Control Task Edit feature allows users to modify the Heat Serial Number and Task Validation Actual Values for completed Control Tasks.

This feature can be accessed from the Control Task Report screen. When Is IoT Report is set to No, an Edit Control Task button is displayed. Clicking this button opens the Control Task Edit screen, where users can search completed Control Tasks, review task validations, validate the entered values, and update the records after all business validations are successfully completed.

1. Open the Control Task Edit Screen​

  1. Navigate to Production & Quality → Reports → Control Task Report.
  2. Set Is IoT Report to No.
  3. Click the Edit Control Task button.
  4. The Control Task Edit screen will open.

2. Search Control Tasks​

Fill in the required details before searching.

Part - Control Plan (Mandatory)​

Select the required Part - Control Plan.

After selecting the Part - Control Plan:

  • The Process list is loaded automatically.
  • The Heat Serial No list is loaded automatically.
  • The selected Process determines the available Batch and Heat Serial Numbers.

Process (Optional)​

Select a Process to edit Control Tasks for a specific process.

  • If a Process is selected, the system directly loads the Task Validation screen for the selected process.
  • If a Process is not selected, the system displays the Completed Process List for the selected Heat Serial Number.

Batch (Optional)​

Select a Batch to further filter the Heat Serial Numbers.

Heat Serial No (Mandatory)​

Select one or more Heat Serial Numbers that need to be edited.

How Heat Serial Numbers are loaded:

  • Only completed serial numbers are displayed in the dropdown.
  • Serial numbers that have already completed the final inspection will not appear.
  • The list of serial numbers is filtered based on the selected Part - Control Plan, Process, and Batch.
  • Only the 20 most recent serial numbers are listed.

Click Search.

3. Completed Process List​

If a Process is not selected, the system displays the Completed Process List.

The user can:

  • Select one or multiple completed processes.
  • Use the checkbox to edit multiple Control Tasks together.

If a Process is selected, the Task Validation section opens directly without displaying the Completed Process List.

4. Task Validation​

The Task Validation section displays:

  • Heat Serial Number
  • New Serial Number
  • Print Number
  • Description
  • Measurement Method
  • Specification Value
  • Lower Specification Limit
  • Upper Specification Limit
  • Previous Actual Value
  • New Actual Value

The user can:

  • Modify the Heat Serial Number.
  • Enter New Actual Values.
  • Review the Previous Actual Values before updating.

5. Validate​

Click Validate All.

The system validates:

  • Heat Serial Number.
  • Task Validation values.
  • Business rules.

If all validations pass successfully, the user can proceed with the update.

6. Update​

Click Update All.

The system updates:

  • Control Task Records
  • Control Task Validation Records
  • Stock Ledger Records

All updates are performed within a single transaction. If any validation fails, the update is cancelled and no records are modified.

Business Validations

To successfully edit a Control Task, the system enforces validations. These are split into general rules, rules for changing serial numbers, and rules for updating values:

1. General Rules (Applies to both Serial Number & Actual Value updates)​

  • Final Inspection Check: You cannot make any changes if the Final Inspection has already been completed.
  • Outsourcing Status: If the task is outsourced, the outsourcing status must be Inspected to allow any changes.
  • Single Update Limit: You can update task validation records and change the heat serial number only once in the same session.

2. Rules for Changing the Heat Serial Number​

  • Serial Number Format: Any new serial number must be entered in the HEATNO-SERIALNO format (for example: FFF-1). Just entering a number (like 1) is not allowed.
  • No Duplicates: You cannot use a heat serial number that has already been created and used in another task within the same process.
  • Sequence Rule: The heat serial number must already exist in the first/initial process with New status.
  • Process Sequence Check: The previous process must be completed before you can update the heat serial number.
  • Status restriction: You cannot change the heat serial number if the task status is currently NEW.

3. Rules for Updating Actual Values​

  • Required Fields: You must fill in all New Actual Value fields before submitting.
  • Value Limits: The entered values are automatically checked against the configured upper and lower specification limits.
